The "Date" field is for storing dates only (it will only accept numbers and will format them into a date). Use it to store a birthday, anniversary, or important call-back date.
To enter a date, type mm/dd/yy. You can also enter mm/dd/yyyy (if you want it to be "11/1/1989", for example). If you want to enter a date that's not in the 1900's, you MUST type the full mm/dd/yyyy. If you have selected "International" or "United Kingdom" in the "Preferences" dialog, you should enter your dates as dd/mm/yy.
Shortcuts:
To enter today's date: Just type any key other than a number.
Same day, different month: Type any month number between 1 and 12.
Same month, different day: Type either a slash, comma, or hyphen followed by the day of the month (between 1 and 31).
Same month and day, different year: Type two slashes, commas, or hyphens followed by the last two digits in the year (e.g. //93).
NOTE: Dynodex automatically keeps track of the entry date as well as the dates you last printed and modified a record, so you don't need to use the Date field for these reasons. (To see the "Print Date", "Modify Date", and "Enter Date" for any record, choose "Show Dates" under the Record Menu.
